CLASSIFICATION OF MATTER ---DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ELEMENT , COMPOUND AND MIXTURE [ class 9 chapter 1 and for higher level]

Image
DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ELEMENT,  COMPOUND AND MIXTURE CLASSIFICATION OF MATTER Matter  can be  classified  according to physical and chemical properties.  Matter  is anything that occupies space and has mass. The three states of  matter  are solid, liquid, and gas. ... Extensive properties depend on the amount of material and include mass and volume DIFFERENCE  DIAGRAM

A substance that cannot be converted into other simpler substance is called elements. There are about 100  elements , each with its own type of atom. Everything in the universe contains the atoms of at least one or more  elements . The periodic table lists all the known  elements , grouping together those with similar properties. PROPERTIES OF ELEMENTS Each element has its own " characteristic properties" characteristics properties may include: physical properties  boiing point melting point density chemical properties radioactivity inflamability EXAMPLES OF ELEMENTS H -  Hydrogen . He - Helium. Li -  Lithium . Be - Beryllium. B -  Boron . C - Carbon. N - Nitrogen. O - Oxygen A component is a single material that can not be divided into various types of substances. Carbon, oxygen, hydrogen, gold, silver and iron are examples of elements. Every element consists of just one atom form.
